What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Using a unique approach to health and disease, naturopathic doctors provide quality, individualized care based on the six principles of naturopathic medicine. Naturopathic Medicine provides a unique framework for supporting the healthiest you can be, rather than managing your disease.
6 Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:
Root Cause:
I listen carefully to your full history. To this end, I spend up to 90 minutes with you in your first visit. I want to know about, not only where you are now, but also how you got to where you are and where you want to go from here. This is the only way to truly uncover the root cause of your illness.
2. Doctor as Teacher:
I take the time to explain what is contributing to your illness and will teach you what you can do for yourself to create optimal health.
3. The Healing Power of Nature:
I will use natural medicines to stimulate your own body's ability to heal itself.
4. First Do No Harm:
From my medicinary of natural medicines, I use the least invasive, safer medicines with fewest side effects whenever possible. This includes herbal medicine, homeopathics, hydrotherapy, food and lifestyle changes, and supplements.
5. Treat the Whole Person:
You are body, mind and spirit. All of these aspects work together to contribute to your wellness.
